Kinsley made her appearance into this world on Oct. 22 at 4:59 pm weighing in at 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long.(At her one week check yesterday she was 7 lbs 5 oz) Shane arrived home on Oct. 21 and we surprised the girls at school during lunch. This was such a bittersweet moment:) (Deserves a post of it's own). I had to put that in just to let you know he arrived just in time. Back to Kinsley's birth story...
On Thurs. Oct. 22, I had been extremely sick all day, as usual and contracting, as usual. I assumed the contractions were from dehydration considering I had been hospitalized twice during the week prior for dehydration and the fluids always made them stop. So, I sent Shane to pick the girls up from school while I lay on the couch and rested. I had an OB appt. at 3:30 in which we were going to discuss scheduling a c-section since I had one with the girls. As I was waiting on Shane and the girls to get home, I dozed off on the couch. Around 2:20 I was awoken by a "POP" in my belly. I got up, went to the bathroom and a few trickles came out. I thought my water had broken but wasn't 100% positive. By the time Shane got here (around 2:30), there was no doubt my water had broke or either I was loosing major control of my bladder. I put on a really thick pad, called the OB office and made them aware my water had broken and asked them if I should come to the office first since I had an appt. anyway or go to L&D. They wanted me to come to the office first. So, I met Shane at the car, took the girls to his Mom's, and by the time we got to her house, my pants were SOAKED!!! The water kept gushing. I couldn't go to the doctor's office soaking wet, so I wanted Shane to take me back home to change, thinking I had PLENTY of time. On the way home, making one stop to throw up, fluid kept gushing out. I got home, changed clothes, and got in the car to make the journey to the OB office (which is located at the hospital). On the way there I started hurting pretty bad and contraction were really close. I told Shane, "Maybe we should just to to L&D instead of the office." The office called my cell phone asking where I was and Shane explained to them he was taking me straight to L&D. The doctor got upset according to the L&D triage nurse. Okay, so we arrived at the hospital around 3:45. By the time I got to the 2nd floor L&D check in, I was in tears. I got changed, hooked up to the moniters, had an IV put in, and she checked me. I was a 3-4 cm. I made a comment to the nurse, "How do people do this with no epidural?" I was thinking, "Anesthesia will be here soon to give me an epidural and I will be in labor all day." They were thinking the same thing. About 30 mins. after arriving at the hospital, they got me in the room where I was to deliver. I was in so much pain, and my body started kind of pushing on it's own. I looked at the nurse whom was hooking me back up to the monitor and said, "Am I suppose to be needing to push?" She said, hold on and I'll check just to see where you are. She put her hand in, looked at the other nurse with a weird expression and said, "You need to go get the doctor." I looked at her and said, "I am not going to get an epidural am I?" She just shook her head. She told me, "Don't push, we need the doctor in here first." She kept her hand inside until DR. D got in, I pushed twice and Kinsley made her appearance at 4:59 pm, about 10 mins. after getting into the room where supposedly I would be laboring all day. LOL! So, I guess I got my wish for a VBAC, an all natural one at that. Kinsley is beautiful and perfect. Kelsey and Kaley are such proud and wonderful big sisters.
Oh yeah, my DSLR camera was in the car. There was no time for Shane to go get it. Luckily, the nurses had a disposable camera on had they let him have:) I will post pictures toon.

38 weeks and ready!!
I am so over this pregnancy and ready for Miss Kinsley to make her appearance. The past 2 weeks have been TERRIBLE!!! I have not eaten hardly anything, much less keep anything down. I'm exhausted from throwing up, my eyes are bruised underneath and my lips are cracked open in the corners. I was in the hospital this past Wed. for fluids and again last night. Contractions were every 2 mins. but they were caused by dehydration and not the "real thing". I also have a Urinary Tract Infection. Shane will be hopefully be here by Thursday, and we are praying the baby arrives Friday.
